We are FāëM (pronounced 'fame'), a West African Dj/Producer duo of brothers, Demi and Fapelo. We are based in Lagos and are residents at Mainland House, Yaba.
We started producing music some six/seven years ago as a means to escape our reality, music was a therapy that provided a way for us to express beyond words.
What inspired us to start creating music was house music. We are huge fans of electronic music (and the psychedelic experience it gives a listener) so we mostly drew our inspiration from our love for the genre but as the years passed we have looked more towards the past. Our tastes expanded to classic tunes from genres like afro rock and psychedelic rock, fuji music, especially exploring music from African Music Legends.
Our current sound is a collage of our individual tastes and our daily experience of muisc. It is just really and truly a unique mix of African styles and electronic music - Afro-Electronic fusion (as we've seen fit to call it these days)
Music is a great way to connect with people and we have found a way to connect with a lot of people by just tellig our stories in sounds. We have a lot to say and we will continue push boundaries because that is who we are. Join us on this journey, we promise to entertain.
